Join the Aquarium of the Pacific and Harbor Breeze Cruises for daily boat excursions to see the marine life in our ocean backyard and to learn how to help it

SEE WHALES AND OTHER MARINE LIFE THIS SUMMER WITH THE

AQUARIUM OF THE PACIFIC AND HARBOR BREEZE CRUISES

The Aquarium of the Pacific and Harbor Breeze Cruises invite the public to set sail on an ocean adventure in search of whales, dolphins, seals, sea lions, sea birds, and other animals. Learn about marine life on one of the two daily three-and-a-half-hour whale watch excursions from the Aquarium’s naturalist team, who will be on board to answer questions and talk about how warming waters off the Southern California coast can affect marine mammals. They will also share what to do if you see a stranded marine mammal. You can explore marine life and learn with the Aquarium’s naturalists by purchasing a combo ticket for a day at the Aquarium and a trip at sea in search of whales.

Ticket purchases for the whale watch help support the non-profit Aquarium of the Pacific and its conservation and education initiatives, including its Whale Photo I.D. program. The Aquarium has been documenting endangered and non-endangered whales and dolphins through its Whale Photo I.D. program since 2010. Aquarium staff photograph and record sightings of each whale during the Aquarium’s daily public whale watch outings aboard Harbor Breeze Cruises. After this, they log the species, upload the photos, add GPS coordinates, record animal behavior, and note the weather conditions on the water. This data is used by scientists to better understand these whales and even resulted in moving a shipping line in the past since it was being frequented by whales.

Sobre este esperado lanzamiento, Arturo Rodríguez expresó su entusiasmo:

RUMBA & FLAMENCO SENSATION GROUP MARUJA LIMÓN KICKS OFF THEIR SECOND NORTH AMERICAN SUMMER TOUR

Known for their vibrant fusion of rumba, dembow, flamenco, pop, and Latin rhythms, Barcelona-based group Maruja Limón announced their North American summer tour, which will visit various cities in the U.S. and Canada. The tour will kick off today (July 8) at the Summer Nights at the Gudelsky Gazebo at Strathmore in North Bethesda, MD, and wrap up at the Calgary Folk Music Festival in Calgary, Alberta, on July 24 to 26.

Maruja Limón—formed in 2014 by Sheila Quero (vocals), Mila González (trumpet), Vicky Blum (guitar), Esther González (vocals), Eli Fabregas (percussion/druns), and Carla González (bass)—is recognized by their lively music, which ranges from flamenco to pop and Latin rhythms. Their most popular songs include “Esta noche no me acuesto,” “Míralas,” and “Carmen,” which showcase their diverse sonic range. To date, they’ve performed at various festivals, including LAMC and globalFEST (USA), Trans Musicales (France), Eurosonic (Netherlands), Sziget Festival (Hungary), Maré de Agosto (Portugal), and Cruïlla (Spain). Now, they’re taking their vibrant music to more stages in North America.

Maruja Limón brings an indispensable perspective to world music: that of rewriting historically traditional genres like Catalan rumba and flamenco from a powerful female collectivity. Their presence on global stages is not only an exercise in artistic quality, but a living testament to how avant-garde, deep roots, and female leadership transform cultural heritage into a universal language.

This summer, the band will go on their North American tour, stopping in major U.S. cities like Aspen, Colorado, San Diego, California, Beverly Hills, California, Santa Cruz, California, and more before heading to Canada. Tour and ticket information below.
